Pakistan’s middle-order  batsman Umar Akmal was destined for great things in cricket but for one reason or another, he has not been able to justify his true potentials. A string of inconsistent performances saw him getting dropped from the Pakistan squad for the England tour but his latest knock will surely make the selectors consider him once again for a spot in the Pakistan team.

In a recent T20 match between Lahore Whites and Rawalpindi in Pakistan’s domestic  T20 Cup, Akmal once again showed everyone what he is capable of. Batting first, Lahore has lost their first two wickets at the score of 52.  But then Umar Akmal fired on all cylinders and scored a brilliant ton to help his team register a win. The penultimate over when Lahore was batting was the highlight of the match as Akmal scored 34 runs off that over. Bowled by Yasir Arafat, Akmal hit five sixes and one four in that over. He nearly missed the chance to become the second batsman after Yuvraj Singh to hit six sixes in an over in a T20 match.
