From the very offset, Day 5 of the Sydney Test was going to be a day full of hardships for the Pakistanis. They went into the day with a terrible bowling performance on their backs, as they conceded runs at the worst run-rate ever in the game’s history. The task which needed them to bat out the whole day was just too unrealistic as the visitors crumbled against a disciplined bowling performance from Australia.
However, during the course of the day’s play, a comical incident was witnessed. Vice-captain David Warner went off the field for quite a while and he was substituted with a relatively unknown face, with long golden chops. It was later found out that the individual was Mickey Edwards, a local player.
Edwards, however, stole the limelight as the commentary panel had a laugh at his expense. He was also cheered by the SCG crowd, when he put in a fine effort to stop a boundary. On a day where the Aussie bowlers ruled the roost, Edwards had his own time in the middle too.
Below, is the video which depicts the young Edwards in action, and the crowd backing up as well.

Post the 3-0 series victory, skipper Steven Smith was delighted and praised his side for a dominating performance. “These last three (tests), that’s what we’re about, we want to score big runs, bowl well, we’ve held our catches,” Smith said. “All the bowlers have done a terrific job. A lot of credit to Pakistan, they’e played some very good cricket this series.”
