It was one of the most awkward dismissals in the cricket history. The match was between India U19 vs South Africa U19 in the 2008 ICC-U19 Cricket World Cup final at Kuala Lumpur.

South Africa sent Indian team to the bat first after winning the toss. The incident happened in the last ball of the 35th over of the Indian’s innings. Saurabh Tiwary was batting on 20 runs. Due to feeling pain in the leg, Tiwary took Tanmay Srivastava as his runner at earlier.

South African spinner Yaseen Vallie bowled to Tiwary a low full toss outside the off stamp. Tiwary totally missed it and Protease wicket-keeper Bradley Barnes whipped off the bails after collected the ball. After that, South African players made a strong appeal for which leg umpire referred to the third umpire.

In the replay, it was clearly shown that Tiwary was in the crease very comfortably but his runner Srivastava was outside the crease, who was standing in the leg-side of the Saurabh Tiwary.

After this replay, the third umpire had no doubt to give the decision for the South African side. The red light flashed and Saurabh Tiwary departed along with Srivastava. Later, the dismissal was counted as a run-out, which was given as a stump out at earlier.

India was bowled out for just 159 runs inside the 46 overs. Due to the rain interruption, the target was 116 runs in 25 overs for the South African team. But the desperate young Indian skipper Virat Kohli made the victory possible for the Indian team as they beat the South African team by 12 runs and clinched the trophy. South Africa only managed 103 runs in the 25 overs after losing 8 wickets.
