The year 2003 has changed the experience of watching cricket among the young generations. India under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly marched into the final against Ricky Ponting’s indomitable Australia.
A billion of Indians were looking at the 11 men hoping that they will conquer the world. But their dream was shattered as Adam Gilchrist’s astounding 57 and Ricky Ponting and Damien Martyn’s destructive performance demolished Indian team’s courage.
Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath who bowled outstandingly throughout the tournament suddenly lost their line and length.
Australia set a colossal total of 359 in 50 overs.
There was a feeling of fear that India would lose and another was for brave hearted people who still believed that India is capable of winning the match.

So, after this heart broken 125 run loss to Australia came to India to play tri-series along with their Down Under opponent New Zealand in India.
The TVS Tri-Series India defeated Australia in the first match under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid.
Australia was touring India without their best bowling weapons.
But hungry India was anyhow wanted to beat Australia. At home in Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore Australia scored 282 batting first.
In the last over of their innings, faced a difficult situation, Damien Martyn was batting on at hundred.
Ajit Agarkar has taken three wickets and helped one batsman to run out. Agarkar on a couple of occasions troubled Australia. In 2003-04 Test series in Australia, he helped India to victory with his six wicket haul in the second innings at Adelaide Oval.
