On a tricky wicket at Dharamsala, Delhi beat Services by 3 wickets to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Electing to field first, Delhi bowlers made light work of Services bowlers as they bundled them out for 146 runs inside 41 overs. Devender Lochab was the highest run-scorer for Services scoring 40 and Vikas Tokas was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi, picking up 4 wickets. In reply, Services bowlers also had Delhi batters reeling at 80/5 but Rajat Bhatia played a sensible knock of 34 to guide Delhi to victory. Gautam Gambhir failed with the bat as he scored 4 runs but Virender Sehwag knock of 20 proved quite vital for Delhi in context of the game. 

In the other match at Bilaspur, Punjab also defeated Himachal Pradesh by 3 wickets. Electing to field first, Punjab bowlers rattled Himachal Pradesh’s top-order and had them struggling at 73/5 in 24 overs. But Paras Dogra’s 53 and Rishi Dhawan’s 42 provided some late resistance to Himachal Pradesh’s innings and took them to a total of 196 runs. Sandeep Sharma picked up 3 wickets for Punjab. In response, Manan Vohra’s 50 and Gurkeerat Singh’s 42 lead Punjab’s batting charge and with late stability provided by Taruwar Kohli, Punjab won the match and qualified for the quater-finals. Yuvraj Singh again failed with the bat as he scored only 4 runs.
