Virat Kohli Has a Special Message for ‘Sword Master’ Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja has been India’s standout performer in the longest format of the game and has been the go to man for Virat Kohli in crunch situations.

He has been a lethal weapon for Kohli and the spinner has delivered whenever he has been handed over the ball. He has also contributed some useful runs lower down the order which has helped his team reach gigantic scores.

In the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka, Jadeja scored a stroke filled 70 off 84 deliveries which contained 4 fours and three hits over the fence. Though he wasn’t at his best in the 1st innings, Jadeja bagged yet another five wicket haul in the 2nd innings to hand India an innings victory.

Though he conceded 152 runs in the process, those five wickets were pretty crucial given the fact that India had taken a massive lead of more than 440 runs.

His excellent performance in the 2nd Test has enabled him to leapfrog Shakib Al Hasan and top the all-rounder’s chart as per Latest ICC Test Rankings. Captain Virat Kohli had a special message for the ‘Sword Master’ of India after the all-rounder became the No.1 all-rounder in the world for the very first time in his career.

Taking to his Twitter handle Kohli wrote,

“Big Congratulations to our sword master Mr Jadeja for becoming the Number 1 test all rounder with @ashwinravi99. Well done Jaddu! @imjadeja??”

Jadeja is known for his outrageous celebrations after reaching a half-century. Ever since the infamous Lord’s Test which India won in a dramatic fashion, Jadeja has always celebrated his half-century by twirling his bat like a sword. Even some commentators wondered what would he do if he reaches his maiden Test century.

Jadeja currently has 438 rating points and is seven points ahead of his nearest competitor, Shakib Al Hasan. His partner Ravichandran Ashwin is occupying the 3rd position with 418 rating points.
