Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who stood in the middle of the controversy surrounding the Indian coach fiasco, has finally taken things easy on himself. After an extremely daunting schedule since the last 12 months, the men in blue finally enjoy a break which lasts up to 3 weeks. Post the third week of July, India head to the Sri Lankan shores, for a full fledged tour, which will last for more than a month and a half.
Making the most out of his break, Kohli was recently seen in the United States of America, vacationing with his ladylove Anushka Sharma. With India set to tour Sri Lanka, followed by a couple of home series and then the ultimate tour of South Africa, the next few months are bound to be profusely hectic for the Virat Kohli-led Indian side.
Therefore, to regain his peace of mind, the Indian captain took off to New York, to vacation with his loved one. In a picture posted by Kohli on Instagram, he sat beside Sharma, and captioned the image as: “Much needed break with my ❤”.
Another matter regarding Kohli which came to the fore in the last couple of days was Sourav Ganguly admitted that the Indian captain was indeed consulted to seek his inputs about the next Indian coach. The position was ultimately given to former Team Director Ravi Shastri.
“We want to speak to Virat Kohli once he is back from America, all three of us along with the respective people concerned. We will explain to him that the coaches want to function in a certain way and make sure that everybody is on the same page before we make the announcement because once we make the announcement it has to be till the 2019 World Cup,” Ganguly said.
