Virat Kohli Should Urge The Board To Schedule Tougher Challenges For His Team, Says Sanjay Manjrekar

With Team India ruling the Test cricket, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feels captain Virat Kohli should ask the BCCI to arrange for tougher challenges for the team.
India is yet to lose a series under Virat Kohli’s captaincy since he led the team against Sri Lanka in 2015 which was his first full series as captain. India had won that series 2-1 which was their first Test series win in Sri Lanka after 22 years. After that, the Kohli-led side had defeated South Africa 3-0 before the mammoth 2016-17 season where they defeated West Indies (2-0), New Zealand (3-0), England (4-0), Bangladesh (1-0) and Australia (2-1). The winning streak continued in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka as the world number one Test team wrapped up the three-match series by winning the second Test on Sunday (August 6).
And although Virat Kohli & Co. have defeated the likes of South Africa, England and Australia many feel that the team is yet to face the real challenge as the wins have come in favourable conditions at home. Sanjay Manjrekar also echoed the same sentiments when he took to Twitter to say that Kohli should urge the board to schedule challenging series.
Citing former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan’s example, the cricketer-turned-commentator said:“When Imran was leading a strong Pak team he urged his board to schedule tougher challenges for his team. Virat must do the same.”
