A disappointing World Cup by his standard makes Virat Kohli a player trying to hit full form and nothing better than this IPL to help him says Indias Bowling Coach.
107, 46, 33*, 33, 44*, 38 ,3, 1 read his scores in the world cup with an average of around 50. This came as a shock to many after his heroics in the test series against a gritty attack from Australia. However Virat had his problems in the Tri-series that followed and that, barring one match came back to haunt him in the world cup.
However, despite medicore performances India’s captain MS Dhoni and coach Ravi Shastri were quick to defend Virat calling him as an asset to the team. His work ethic and the zeal to learn will make him come out with flying colors exclaimed Arun the bowling coach of India. Arun, apart from being Indian bowling coach, is also the assistant coach at RCB where Kohli is the skipper.
Kohli who could not produce a sparkle in the semi final came under a lot of scrutiny but the Indian skipper dismissed them and said that it could happen to every batsmen and that Kohli was nothing special. Shastri exclaimed that the presence of the Bollywood star playing any role in Kohlis innings is utter nonsense.
Shastri also felt that Kohli can only get better form here and said that he is not a finished article yet.
