Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has been able to carve his own niche on social networking site twitter. Sehwag, who has earned quite a reputation with his witty posts on Twitter, didn’t disappoint this time either as he called former South African skipper Shaun Pollock “polly kaka” on the latter’s birthday.
Wishing the legendary all-rounder, the Nawab of Najafgarh recalled his Test debut in South Africa when he was bowled by Pollock in both the innings. But before that he got off to a dream start in Test cricket. The right-hander hit a century on debut, during the first Test against South Africa at Bloemfontein in November 2001.Coming in to bat at number six when India were in a spot of bother after losing 4 wickets for 68, Sehwag hit a memorable 105 and added 220 runs with Sachin Tendulkar before being bowled by Pollock. In the second innings, he scored 31 and was once again bowled by Pollock. However, Sehwag’s ton went in vain as India lost the match by 9 wickets.
Posting a picture of himself and Pollock on Twitter, Sehwag said:”Happy Birthday Polly Kaka @7polly7.Still remember u bowled me in both innings of my debut test,in1st innings at 105″
