Based on the search records of the World’s most popular Search Engine, Google, it is found that Virender Sehwag, the attacking batsman from Delhi is the most searched cricketer amongst the players who are trying to make a comeback to the Indian team. Google announced about the news officially on Wednesday.
Also, the search trends in Google for the past 30 days reflect the huge fan base of eminent cricketers like Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Also, they were searched more because of the Champions League T20 which concluded in the last week. Sehwag’s team, Kings XI Punjab performed decently in the tournament and were knocked out in the semi final stages of the tournament. Also, Gautam Gambhir’s team, Kolkata Knight Riders were the runners up in the tournament.
Gambhir has led his team to successful campaigns in both IPL and CLT20 this year. But he is struggling to regain his form at the moment and he has been out of the Indian squad for quite sometime now. He was included in the test squad of India in their tour to England. He even played two tests in the series but failed to make a mark there.
Sehwag has been out of the team for quite a prolonged period of time. Many critics presume that Sehwag will not be able to make a comeback but his fans think it differently. They still support him in the same way and the search trends are a proof of it. He is supported and searched strongly. Thus he leads the online search at Google.
Sehwag was fairly successful in the CLT20 but that might not be enough for him to regain his spot back in the national team ahead of the World Cup to be held next year.
Also, plenty of youngsters in the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu and others are playing well which makes the competition tough for veteran players like Sehwag.
