The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rejected Indian players request to bring their wives and girlfriends to Australia for the ICC World Cup 2015 and have made it clear that unless the team makes it to the quarter-final stage, they won’t be allowed to do so.

After India’s dismal tour of England last year, BCCI accused the WAGs for player’s poor performances and termed them as a “distraction”. So after the series ended, they planned to lessen the number of days the wives will spend with their husbands in the future tours.

India started off their World Cup campaign after a comprehensive victory against Pakistan by 76 runs at Adelaide. This was India’s sixth straight win against Pakistan in the showpiece event. They will now face South Africa on February 22nd at Melbourne. Both have played against each other three times in the World Cup out of which, South Africa have secured a victory on all three occasions.
