Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz has reportedly apologised to his mother nation Pakistan for the team’s utter failure in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup of 2015 of the quarter final match against the host nation Australia. Wahab Riaz turned out to be one of the most magnificent and breathtaking spells of pace bowling against Australia the last day, said that he was apparently heartbroken with the last day’s defeat in the knockout stage.
He was sad and had apologized to the people of the nation for the shameless defeat and he has cited the reason to be that the people of Pakistan had so many expectations from them; the left arm pacer was heard saying on a news channel. He further thinks more than ever they need the support of their fans now. He is sad because at some stage of the match, it appeared that they could have won the match the last day, Riaz said. He emerged to be Pakistan’s most successful bowler in the cricket’s largest tournament in the World with 16 wickets in his tally and his spell on the last day had even the mighty Australians and the international cricket community go in all praise for him.
Explaining his war of words with Australia’s all rounder Shane Watson, Riaz said when Shane came onto bat, and Watson and others had exchanged words with him, so when he came into bat Riaz settled the score with him. Watson and Riaz were however both penalised by the ICC on Saturday for their spat.
He also made it clear he had no complaints with his teammate Rahat Ali who dropped a simple catch to give Watson a renewed life when he was on as score of just four.
