One of the best all rounder for Pakistan Abdul Razzaq in public said coach of Pakistan Waqar Younis had a role in his career ending abruptly. Razzak said that Waqar always has plans to move seniors out of the team to play a new brand of cricket. He pointed out that in 2011 when Waqar was appointed the coach, himself (Abdul Razzaq) and Mohammad Yousuf were the victims then and that the exclusion of Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal does not surprise him.
He also added that Misbah-ul-Haq the current skipper in Test cricket, who recetnly retired from ODI after World Cup, is to be blamed for fearful attitude of the youngsters in Pakistan and that is the reason why Pakistan has not progressed in ODI cricket. Razzaq advised Waqar to rather not drop like Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad. He also added that Waqar who was a great bowler in his time does not posses management skills to be a coach for a national team.
Razzak who still is not retired even after being ignored by PCB went on to add that the performance of Pakistan left a lot to be desired and that they need to change the mind-set of the team if they have to change their current form in the sport.
Razzaq felt that the Pakistan players are missing out on a lot by not being able to play in the cash-rich IPL and that it would have helped them grow as players.
