As per the inquires carried out by PTI, Pakistan Head Coach Waqar Younis is likely to get sacked if the team returns with a loss or a draw against Bangladesh in the ongoing second test at Dhaka.

Pakistan have had a forgettable tour of Bangladesh till now. They got thrashed in the ODI series 3-0 and also lost the lone T20. In the first Test at Khulna, even after securing a 296-run lead in the first innings, they failed to register a victory courtesy an outstanding display of batting from Tamim Iqbal (who scored his first Test double hundred) and Imrul Kayes, who stood at the crease for 75 overs.

Waqar, who is coaching Pakistan for the second time, is likely to face the axe as opinion against his coaching abilities have increased in the board.

A source close to PCB said:

“Even a draw in the second Test is not going to save Waqar’s job. He has to inspire Pakistan to win the Test.”

Former captain Mohammed Yousuf feels that people running the cricket affairs in the board and the coach need to replaced if Pakistan have to come to the winning ways.

He said:

“It is an outrageous situation for Pakistan cricket and if Pakistan can’t win the Test the coaches need to be changed so do the people running cricket affairs in the board.

“People can’t tolerate such performances. Other countries change their coaches if they don’t deliver so what if Waqar is removed what is wrong with that,” Yousuf concluded.
