Kyle Hope pulled off a wonderful catch to bring the downfall of the Virat Kohli today. Facing Jason Holder, the Indian skipper poked one short delivery to the backward-point area. The ball could have sailed smoothly to the boundary but Hope, who was manning the area, displayed great reflexes and agility to complete the catch.
Jason Holder produced a slightly unnatural lift up off the pitch which forced Kohli to try and work the ball towards the third man region. However, the right-hander failed to keep the ball on the ground and ended up walking back to the pavilion
West Indies couldn’t have asked for a better start today in the 3rd ODI at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua as India went down to 34/2. India were off to a very bad start. The visitors were put to bat first by the hosts after a rain delay and quickly lost two wickets in short succession. The first to depart was Shikhar Dhawan.
The left-hander, who was in superb form in recent times, had to experience a failure today as he was removed by Miguel Cummins in the 3rd over of the match.
Dhawan seemed slightly overconfident and played an upper cut despite Cummins having a fielder at third-man. It was gentle nudge which was played with the momentum of the delivery and could sail the distance. Chase faced no difficulties in completing the catch and giving his team the first breakthrough of the day.
Kohli later followed his opener as West Indies gained an upper hand over the proceedings.
