Watch: MS Dhoni Takes Fans Back To The Famous Night At Wankhede

Wankhede and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot is one of the best combos in Indian cricket history. It was the very shot and the venue where the cricket-obsessed India’s 28-year’s long wait for the World Cup ended.
Chasing a challenging 275, India had their task cut out when both of their in-form openers Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar were sent back cheaply. However, Gautam Gambhir’s 97-run knock steadied the ship before Dhoni took charge of the chase and ended it brilliantly by hoisting Nuwan Kulasekara for a huge six over long on.
There is absolutely no denying that whenever Dhoni plays that shot, it takes the fan back to the famous night at the Wankhede and BCCI’s Twitter rightly said the same thing when Dhoni hit a helicopter shot while batting in the nets ahead of the upcoming first One-Day International against New Zealand, scheduled to be played on October 22.
“When @msdhoni hits a big one at the Wankhede Stadium, it invariably takes us back to that famous six in 2011,” the official handle of the cricket board while posting the following video.
