Watch: Virat Kohli Leaves Field After Suffering Freak Shoulder Injury

India have suffered a huge injury scare in the ongoing third Test at Ranchi against Australia as their talismanic skipper Virat Kohli had to leave the field midway through the match to receive treatment after hurting his shoulder.
The mishap occurred in the 40th over of the innings when the India skipper chased a Peter Handscomb shot before diving near the boundary rope to save the shot from crossing the rope. And while he succeeded in saving the boundary, he seemed to have injured his shoulder. He fell awkwardly on his right shoulder and was seen holding it after he stood up. The Indian batting star was soon attended by the team physio before leaving the ground for treatment. The 28-year old was further seen having an ice-pack strapped around his shoulder. India would be hoping that it is not a serious injury as they are looking to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar series.
Meanwhile, Abhinav Mukund replaced Kohli for the time being while Ajinkya Rahane has taken the charge of the team.
