Watch: Virat Kohli Smiling After Ajinkya Rahane Drops David Warner’s Catch

The Indian team, it seems, has not learned anything from the mistakes they had committed during the 333-run defeat at the hands of Australia in the first Test at Pune. Apart from their poor batting, the Indian players were average with the ball and even worse during fielding. Their use of the Decision Review System was not good either.
Well the story has not changed much as Virat Kohli’s men committed the same mistakes during the second Test in Bengaluru. On a pitch that was providing ample bounce, the Indian batsmen fell like a pack of cards as Nathan Lyon wreaked havoc with his accurate off-spins. The 29-year old took 8 for 50 as the hosts were bowled out for a paltry 189.
And India’s misery was further compounded when Ajinkya Rahane dropped David Warner when the southpaw was batting on only 9. The Australia opener tried to play away from his body but edged the delivery to Rahane who was standing at the gully. The Mumbai star made a full length dive to catch the ball but dropped it. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who is known for being an animated character on the field, did not show his anger after seeing another poor display from his fielder but his smile after the incident told the whole story. Rahan’s wife who was watching the match from the stands was also seen smiling after his husband dropped a regulation catch at the gully.
Here is a clip of that incident:
