All-Rounder Shane Watson and Fast Bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile have been recalled to the Australian squad for the first two ODIs of the five-match series against South Africa. Both Watson and Coulter-Nile missed the Zimbabwe and UAE tour due to injuries.

The Australian selectors have included six-fast bowlers in the 13-man squad for the first two games of the series to be played on the pace-friendly WACA pitch in Perth on November 14 and 16.

Mitchell Johnson will spearhead the bowling attack and he’ll be well supported by Kane Richardson, Nathan-Coulter-Nile, Josh Hazlewood and the two all-rounders Shane Watson and Mitchell Marsh

The batting department is pretty much the same. Warner, Finch and Watson will provide the much-needed fire-power at the top of the order and Clarke, Bailey and Maxwell complementing them. Brad Haddin has been rested for the full series in order to freshen up for the Border-Gavaskar trophy in December. Matthew Wade replaces him in the squad. Steve Smith retains his place in the squad after being Australia’s best batsmen against Pakistan at UAE.

There was no place for Xavier Doherty and Nathan Lyon but it will be interesting to see as who gets the nod ahead of the other for the last three ODI’s. Also, Mitchell Starc and James Faulkner were omitted from the squad , despite featuring in the ODI’s against Pakistan at UAE, to prepare them through the Sheffield Shield for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
