West Indies v India, Only T20I – Predicted XI Of West Indies

West Indies will be upbeat, as they prepare to face India in the only T20I which is set to be staged at Jamaica tomorrow. A 3-1 series loss in the just concluded five-match series would have no effect on the upcoming game as the hosts switch to their favourite format.

The selectors have jacked up the squad with the inclusion of regular T20 stars, most noticeably Chris Gayle. While the current dispute disallows the T20 freelancers to represent Windies in the Test and the ODI format, they are completely eligible to play the shortest format which will make the competition worth watching. The presence of Gayle and other popular stars alone will drive huge crowds or at least create a lot of buzzes. India, too, will be up for a challenge. The Jamaica tie promises to give a thrilling end to the otherwise boring, lopsided tour.

Team news and tactics.

Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Jerome Taylor, Evin Lewis and Carlos Brathwaite, the leader of the pack, will be seen in action. The 13 -man squad will see only Ronsford Beaton and Rovman Powell or Kesrick Williams sitting out.

It’s pretty straightforward. Brathwaite would very unlikely choose to keep any of the proven T20 stars out of the playing considering its just a one match series. All the names, who are on a comeback, will get a place regardless of their recent form.

Others like opener Evin Lewis, who hit a wonderful century when both teams last played against each other, Jason Mohammad and wicket-keeper Chadwick Walton look like automatic entrants in the XI. Sunil Narine and Samuel Badree are also likely to play as the side already has too many seam bowling option.

Therefore, they have the room to include both the spinners of world class quality in the side.

Predicted XI: Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Marlon Samuels, Jason Mohammad, Carlos Brathwaite, Kieron Pollard, Chadwick Walton, Kesrick Williams, Sunil Narine, Samuel Badree. Jerome Taylor
