England have roped in uncapped Surrey seamer Tom Curran as a replacement for the injured Jake Ball for the limited-overs series against the West Indies.
As per the Guardian, Ball injured his knee while playing in the second practice match against West Indies Board XI in St. Kitts. England won the close encounter by two wickets and finished their tour games on a high.
Off the two Curran brothers, the elder one has got the call, his maiden call though after he bagged 10 wickets in the drawn two-match first-class series against Sri Lanka A, where the selector Angus Fraser was present.
Injuries have run parallel to England’s limited-overs outfit for a while now. During the second ODI against India in Cuttack, opener Alex Hales suffered a broken finger but has now made a comeback to the side after being cleared in the recent scans.
Jake Ball, the Nottinghamshire bowler, made his debut against Bangladesh in ODIs last year and took a five-wicket haul, becoming the first Englishmen to do so.
England and the West Indies will play their first of their three ODIs in Antigua on March 3.
