West Indies defeated India by 1 run in the first T20 match at Florida just a few moments. It was an outstanding match as both teams played some wonderful strokes. In the last over India needed 8 runs but Bravo bowled an excellent over and West Indies won the match by a single run.

  1. Explosive start by West Indies openers

India won the toss and elected to field on a good batting pitch at Florida. Chris Gayle did not come to bat as an opener. Charles and Lewis started on an aggressive note smashing the Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. Both opening batsmen played excellent strokes which made life tough for Indian bowlers. In the first six overs , West Indies scored 78 runs in the first six overs which put Indian bowlers on the backfoot. After the powerplay overs, West Indies openers continued to plunder the Indian bowlers. Charles completed his half century. Both of them took 7.4 to complete 100 runs partnership. Charles was dismissed for a quick fire 79. Lewis and Charles put on 126 runs in 9.3 overs.

  1. Lewis’ brilliant 100

In place of Gayle, Lewis played a brilliant knock for the West Indies team. When the opening partnership was going on Lewis was hitting the balls out of the park. Lewis scored 50 off 25 balls. After the loss of Charles’ wicket, Lewis continued to attack the Indian bowlers and completed his century off 48 balls. He was dismissed for 100 in 48 balls which helped West Indies to post a massive total of 246.

  1. Partnership between Rahul and Rohit Sharma

Chasing a target of 246, India lost 2 early wickets of Rahane and Kohli. After that Rahul and Rohit Sharma steadied the innings with excellent hitting by Rohit and Rahul. Both of them attacked the West Indies bowlers. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul made the batting look easy. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma put on 89 in 7.1 overs. Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 62 off 28 balls which set the foundation for a memorable win.

  1. MS Dhoni and KL Rahul partnership

After the fall of Rohit Sharma wicket, MS Dhoni and KL Rahul looked in great form hitting sixes and fours with ease. KL Rahul, known for his test credentials, played one of the best knocks under pressure and scored a century. MS Dhoni looked in fine touch smashing West Indies bowlers to all parts of the ground. Both of them put 107 runs in less than 9 overs.

  1. Dwayne Bravo brilliant last over

At the end of 19th over, India needed only 8 runs to win. Dwayne Bravo bowled an excellent over by bowling yorkers and slower balls. Dwayne Bravo bowled slower balls and did not allow MS Dhoni and well settled KL Rahul to hit big strokes. On the last ball, Dwayne Bravo picked the wicket of MS Dhoni and helped West Indies to register 1 run victory.
