Sunriser Hyderabad bundled out Mumbai Indians for a paltry 92 at VDCA Cricket Stadium, Vosakahapattanam. Shikhar Dhawan’s 82 and SunrisersHyderabad’s Ashish Nehra, Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvneswar Kumar’s tight bowling helped SRH to score 177. This was Mumbai Indians second lowest total in IPL history.
“They bowled really well. Got early wickets and it was going to be difficult after that. Not much in the wicket didn’t apply ourselves. When you lose a couple of wickets, you just bat out to see what happens. We will try to leave this game behind. We bowled okay. Didn’t start off well, did okay in the middle – picking wickets is always important – but leaked 70 runs in the last few overs, something which I didn’t expect from our bowlers. Nothing went well for us. Fielded well, which is a good sign. Had struggled with it but not today; so that’s a positive to take home,” after losing the match Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma said.
“It’s an absolute ROUT” bellowed Alan Wilkins on air as wickets kept pegging at the pace of a horse gallop. Couldn’t have put the Mumbai Indians implosion any better. Bhuvi inaugurated the mission and the rest followed suit – Nehra being the pick of the bowlers. To be brutally honest, there is nothing threatening about the surface. Poor shot selection and lack of patience to cope up with the extra bounce cost the home team dear. SRH capitalized and kept pinging the wickets column to hand Mumbai Indians a shattering defeat
