Out of favour, Yuvraj Singh played a bilnder a knock to bring Punjab closer to knocking out. The left handed batsman played a 59 ball 78 run innings to win the match for his state.
Yuvraj in the previous match against Assam scored 36 and shared a crucial partnership with Gurkeerat Singh.
Yuvraj so far scored 243 in 4 matches at an average of 81 in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Currently, he is the leading run-scorer of the tournament.
But, the question is will Yuvraj’s name be considered for Australia tour. BCCI announced that it will pick up the team for India’s tour of Australia on December 19.
India recenly lost the T20 and ODI series to visiting South Africa under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Murali Vijay’s name has come out as a choice to shaky out of form Indian middle order as captain MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina digging their old forms.
Dhoni in five Vijay Hazare Trophy matches scored 72 runs for Jharkhand. On Saturday team will be decided. India will take off for Australia on Januray 6.
With World T20 at home, India needs a solution to the middle order. The first match of the Australia series will start on Januray 12. Sandeep Patil lead slection committee must give Yuvraj Singh an opportunity to justify him for the last time in his career.
A fit Yuvraj has already shown his intent for India comeback. Recently the experienced hard-hitting batsman said that he would bid adieu the game after playing the ICC World T20 at home next year.
The current Indian team lacks a middle order batsman who scores more runs from fewer balls. Yuvraj with his Vijay Hazare trophy form will be the right option for the tournament. But, before the marqee tournament slectors will get two series to test Yuvraj. Besides five ODIs and three T20 matches in Australia, India will also host a home series against Sri Lanka. So a back in form Yuvraj deserves a last chance to justify his talent again.
He won India 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup. He will be cconsidered as a legend for his match winning knocks after retirement. So, bidding fare well to a starlet of Indian cricket, who has contributed India with both bat and ball, ICC World T20 2016 will be the right platform.
