West Indies Vs India 2017 5th ODI: Windies’ Predicted XI
May 24, 2023 at 4:17 PM
With just a sole aim to upset India again and end the series on a higher note for themselves, Windies will face India in the fifth and final ODI of the series at Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica. With a win in the last game, they have already given jitters to the Men in Blue and now they have a chance to win just one more match, so as to level the series with one of the best sides in world cricket.
The loss against Windies in the 4th ODI was a big shocker for India and the team management doesn’t have much to ponder abut the loss as everything that happened in the field was quite visible from the balcony in which they were sitting and also on the TV screens of the fans who were keeping a check on the performance team India. Nothing has to be said and members of Indian team know what they have to do here.
Overview –
India: Bowling and fielding were up to the mark for the Indian team in the previous game before the finalist of ICC Champions Trophy bungled in the batting department to lose the low-scoring game by a margin of 11 runs. MS Dhoni played too slowly, which resulted in India losing the game. Though whole batting line up is to be blamed for that loss, but Dhoni took the responsibility and failed to do it for his side. Failures are inevitable but not in this way.
India team will look to come out from that loss soon so as to avoid any falter in the last ODI and if Windies pull off another upset, then it will be the biggest surprise of the year.
Windies: Their batsmen failed to do the job for the side but bowlers turn the tides in their own favour and bamboozled Indian batsmen, to pull off a stunning heist. Till last few overs, it was the Indian team who was the favourite to win the game but an inexperienced bowling line-up was able to out-fox MS Dhoni in the death overs to leave Indian team empty handed and give them another reality check.
Talking Points –
India: The Virat Kohli-led side was expected to chase down the mere total of 190 and win the series and then give a chance to Rishabh Pant in the last ODI but the result was opposite to what was expected, which can now see the left-handed sensation not getting a chance in the last ODI which will be the biggest talking point. Despite Kohli making three changes in the previous game, Pant didn’t get a chance and now hoping Kohli to rope in the youngster looks a rare chance.
Windies: Roston Chase. He will be the man who will be biggest talking point ahead of the game. He has failed to emulate his Test success in this format of the game and Windies need to decide whether they will restrict him to just one format or not. Looking at his performance till now, there might be a chance when he gets superseded with any other player n the team.
