David Warner Calls India ‘Fantastic’ but Tags New Zealand as Favourites

Swashbuckling Australian Opener David Warner regarded New Zealand the top contender for the World Cup because of their explosive and consistent batting and immaculate new ball bowling, but also mentioned that defending champions India had come up with fantastic performances.

The opener felt Brendon McCullum’s demolishing batting at the top of the order and his capability to  turn teams pessimistic very early in the match complemented by controlled swing bowling by their fast bowlers to pick early wickets and scurry through the top orders of the opposition is a menacing combination for any opposition to endure.

He also praised the Indian team’s all around performance stating that their bowlers had a humongous role to play in their success, winning all their matches in the group stage of the tournament.

He also believed that the Aussies were peaking at the right time and seem only a few yards away from their fifth world cup title, adding that they had excellent team balance with both the bat and the ball.
