Former Test cricketer Yograj Singh, who is father of Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh, was detained alongside three others on Monday in a fight case over a car parking issue, police said. The cricketer-turned-actor was detained from Panchkula after a case under different areas of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including trespassing and criminal intimidation, was enrolled against him in a late-night fight over a car parking issue, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, Rahul Sharma said on Monday.

Yograj and four others were later conceded safeguard by the Panchkula Sessions Court, he said. The incident occurred when Yograj’s companion Bhupinder and his (Yograj’s) NRI cousin Kuljeet Kaur, alongside her kids, came back to their Panchkula habitation in the wake of going to a birthday party with the cricketer the previous evening. The inconvenience emerged when Bhupinder began parking his car, to which his neighbor, a resigned DSP, alongside his two children, raised a protest, he said.

As the two sides entered into a warmed contention, Bhupinder telephoned Yograj who touched base there alongside some different persons, the DCP said. At the point when Yograj arrived at the spot, a crash occurred between Yograj, his companion, and NRI relatives on one side and the neighbor and his relatives on the other side, Sharma said.

As indicated by the dissention stopped by the neighbor, Yograj and his companions supposedly assaulted him (DSP) and his two children, he said. Be that as it may, Yograj asserted that it was the DSP and his children who assaulted his relatives, including ladies, and they had endured sharp wounds.

Cross Firs had been lodged under different segments of the IPC and five persons — Yograj, Bhupinder, the DSP, and his two children — were taken into custody, Sharma said. Later, a case under different Sections of the IPC including house trespass, revolting, bringing on damage, and criminal intimidation had been enlisted against Yograj and Bhupinder while an instance of creating wounds and criminal intimidation had been enrolled against the resigned DSP and two others.

Every one of the five have been conceded safeguard by the session’s court here, police said. The 56-year-old Yograj had as of late experienced surgery to uproot a throat tumor in the United States. Yograj is an outstanding on-screen character and has done numerous movies, the greater part of them Punjabi. He did a cameo in the Milkha Singh‘s biopic ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ a year ago.
