Interim coach Sanjay Bangar said that the youngsters made an impact on Zimbabwe tour. The Indian team played 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches. Young Indian team won both series.
“Some of the boys would go to Australia with India A team and I think the selectors who were here for the entire duration and were watching each and every player very closely would have definitely earmarked players for the future from what they saw over here.”
“Each one who got an oppurnity created an impact on this tour. They made an impression and I think this experience will stand them in good stead going ahead,”. Bangar said after the press conference after yesterday’s T20 match.
The Indian trashed Zimbabwe in One day International series by 3-0 while won the T20 series by 2-1. Many young players were tried on this tour and they have responded in great manner.
The likes of KL Rahul showed promise of becoming a good limited overs batsmen. Axar Patel performed well in this series with some good performances in the T20 series.
” Dhoni was great as a captain in this tour by giving tips to the young Indian players who toured Zimbabwe and also told that they are future of Indian cricket. He shared knowledge and made the youngsters feel comfortable in the dressing room”.
The Indian team learnt a lot from Zimbabwe and dealt the way how to play under pressure. All the players who came to this tour. Chahal also did a great job who bowled well in this tour.
“Dhoni had lot of interactions with the players and made an effort to go out with them and probably went out for dinner with them.He went out of the way to make youngsters feel comfortable. He shared experience with the younger guys and told them how to handle pressure in match situations and the things that are to be done”.
