Younis Khan overtakes Inzamam-ul-Haq, in terms of number of centuries scored by a Pakistani Batsman in tests. Inzamam -ul-haq had scored 25 test 100’s. Younis Khan century in the First Innings against Australia in the ongoing Test match against Australia was his 25th , and he scored his 26th in the second inings of the game.
He also became the first batsman to post two hundreds in the same Test against the Aussies in over four decades. New Zealand’s Glen Turner had achieved this feet earlier in 1974.
Younis Khan had made 106 on the First day of the test which helped him to come at par with former skipper’s 25 Test hundreds. It took him just 3 days to become the player with the most Test Centuries for Pakistan. He finished 103 not out in the second innings, which also helped his team to reach a score of 286/2 on day four. He has became the first Pakistani batman to score a century against all test playing nations as well.
Younis Khan has now scored 26 Test centuries in just 96 Test matches, while Inzamam-ul-haq had scored 25 in 119 matches. He also became the 7th Pakistani in all two score centuries in both Innings of a test match, the one before him was Mohammad yousuf(Yousuf Yohanna) who had done this against West Indies in the year 2006. This is a remarkable achievement for Younis Khan since comments were made by the National Selectors just a month ago thah his career is over.
