The game between India and UAE might have been a one sided encounter, but it had moments which would rejuvenate a lot of cricket fans. As the Indian openers were going all guns blazing, Rohit Sharma was dismissed, caught at third man. Rather than the usual number 3, in walked Yuvraj Singh, and that galvanized all the viewers.
Earlier in the tournament, Yuvraj had shown glimpses of his good old form when he had struck 3 elegant sixes against Sri Lanka. Post that game as well, Yuvraj had said that he was getting back into his groove.
The dynamic southpaw reiterated that statement on the field against UAE. In his unbeaten knock of 25 off 14 deliveries, Yuvraj hit four delightful boundaries and a maximum, which was timed to perfection.
But the trademark shot was the finishing blow, which came from Singh’s willow. On a delivery pitched on the shorter side, Yuvraj went back and pulled the ball for a boundary. It finished off the game for India and with that Yuvraj definitely gave a lot of Indians a reason to smile. Going into the final, and the ICC World T20, Yuvraj will definitely hold the aces for team India.
With the T20 World Cup just around the corner, Yuvraj will surely be a vital cog for team India. He seems to have struck form just at the right time and if he maintains that rapport, he might go on to drive India to glory. Considering how dramatic his career and life has been, it wouldn’t be surprising if India’s greatest match winner, adds another trophy to his armory!
