Discarded India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina are set to feature in the 13th edition of Dr DY Patil T20 tournament to be played from January 4 to 15. It’ll be an ideal practice for Yuvraj Singh ahead of the start of Vijay Hazare Trophy to be played in February whereas Suresh Raina will get some match practice as there are fair chances of him retaining his place for the ODI series against England, starting January 15. He was the part of the One-Day squad against New Zealand but missed the series due to viral fever.
Both Yuvraj and Raina have played this tournament in past as the former played two games for Air India in 2015 whereas the latter also represented the same team in the year 2012.
In past, the tournament has attracted international players like Virender Sehwag, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Wasim Jaffer and many others. This tournament is of utmost importance for domestic players to gain the attention of IPL franchises.
This year, a total of 16 teams will take on each other for the elusive trophy which also carries a cash prize of Rs. 15 Lakhs.
