Zimbabwe off-spinner Prosper Utseya became the second Zimbabwean to take a Hat-Trick in an One Day International Match. Utseya achieved this feet against South Africa at Harare in a Tri-Series featuring Australia as the third team.

He dismissed Quinton deKock, Rille Rossouw and David Miller off three consecutive deliveries in the 27th over of the game.

First, de Kock reverse swept the ball just to find the hands of leaping Tendai Chatara at short third man. It is an absolute stunner by Chatara as he back-pedalled and sticked his right hand out to pluck it.

Then it was Rilee Rossouw who got out for a duck in his first match and he is out for a duck here. Superb delivery though. Utseya tossed up the ball and after the ball spun from the wicket, Rossouw was stuck in the crease and poked at it just to get an outside edge taken neatly by first slip by Nyumbu.

The Hat-Trick victim is David Miller. Utseya, once again tossed the ball up but unlike the previous one, the ball doesn’t turn much. Miller plays outside the line and gets hit right in front. It was an easy decision for the umpire.

Utseya becomes the only Zimbabwean bowler since Eddo Brands in 1997 to take an Hat-Trick in ODI’s.
