Singapore is all set for the spectacular night race. As the starry sky sets in exactly 2 days from now on, the action will begin and will last for almost two hours before the three podiums get filled up. The only night race of the Formula One season has always been the favourite for the F1 fans as differs from the rest of the races. Let’s have a look into the finer details of the race.

Sebastian Vettel set for Hattrick:

The 26 year old German is all set and ready for the third race win. Seb has dominated last two years and is in no mood to leave any stones unturned. The Red Bull has clearly been the fastest on track and is expected to continue their form at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. On familiar territory Vettel will be vary of the Ferrari and Mercedes racers. Will they pose a threat?

Massa Raring after Ferrari Fallout:

The Brazilian racer Felipe Massa will be racing the first Grand Prix after his confirmation of leaving Ferrari by the season end. Free from all the shackles Massa will be competing as a free man in the race. Massa is expected to be more aggressive and try to put up a win in forth coming races. Will he outclass Fernando Alonso? – He can definitely if he doesn’t crash.

Alonso – Vettel a battle to watch out for: The Spaniard driver who has displayed some breath taking driving skills at the start of the past few races will be looking to dethrone Vettel from the podium. He has been second best for almost all season and it is more than time to put up a brave fight. The qualifiers have been the setback for Ferrari all season and they will look to put up some better show at least in the race.

Mercedes – Hoping a better race:  vet2

The Mercs have been exceptional in the qualifiers but has failed miserably in the races. Their drivers haven’t been able to convert their poles into race wins. And some technical flaws have hindered them throughout. They will be hoping to put all these things aside and finish on the top of podium for the race.  Lewis is a man of exceptional driving skills and he poses a threat on any day. Lotus and Kimi – A constant threat: Lotus has showed lot of promise early this year but has lost their killer edge in last few races. In Kimi Raikkonen, they have a potential driver who has one of the best racing brains. But Lotus has failed to capitalise on it. Grosjean has showed glimpse of what he is capable of and has been on the verge of podium finishes in few races. If they can put a good car for the race, they are very much capable of podium finish. Pirelli and its Super Soft: Pirelli has introduced the new super soft tyres for the race. Last time when they tried something new at Silverstone, it ended up in disaster with rubber flying all around the track. Hope these tyres stand in good stead for two hour long race.

What to Expect:

Being the only night race of the season, Drivers and the crew have to get acclimatised to the conditions. The track temperature is set to drop as the races progresses and the teams will struggle to keep their tyre temperature to optimum. The two hour in gruelling conditions will test the skill of drivers. Vettel is set to dominate the race. Alonso and Kimi are expected to complete the podium. We might witness some high speed action in the thrilling 61lap race under floodlights in the street circuit of Singapore.
