Liverpool have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window this summer. They have added a number of top class players to their squad and will go into the next season as a stronger outfit than in the previous one.
However, with just over a week left for the deadline day, the manager is now getting desperate to let go of all the players who have no place in his team next season.
One such player who is definitely on his way out of the club this summer is Italian maverick Mario Balotelli.
Having moved back to England to join Liverpool from AC Milan a couple of years ago, Balotelli managed to score just one goal in the many chances he got at the club under manager Brendan Rodgers.
He was not able to prove himself to warrant a longer stay at the club and was loaned back to the San Siro outfit last summer.
However, he is not back at Anfield and is reportedly not in the plans of the manager at the club.
This has seen a number of clubs linked with a move for the Liverpool reject in the summer transfer window.
But recent reports today have suggested the Sassuolo, an Italian outfit who were reportedly interested in his signature, are now out of the race and that they have rejected an offer to sign him this summer.
“Mina Raiola offered us Balotelli, but we refused,” Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali told RaiSport’s Zona11pm show.
But that is not the end of the road for the Italian with Serie A outfits Bologna, Lazio, and Chievo all now plotting a move for the Italian according to reports.
It is revealed that Bologna are in advanced talks with the player and are ready to make a move that will land the striker this summer.
However, it is reported that Bologna wants Liverpool to subsidize a substantial amount of the €6m that has to be paid to the Italian in wages. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are ready to agree on a deal with these conditions.
It is also revealed that Lazio are looking at the Liverpool striker if they lose Keita Balde Diao this summer.
Where do you think Balotelli will end up come to the end of the transfer window this summer?
