Steven Gerrard, former Liverpool and England captain, announced his retirement on Thursday. The 36-year-old is undoubtedly the best mid-fielder England has ever had in the past two decades and has been the greatest player ever to play for Liverpool.

He played for the Reds 710 times while represented England in 114 fixtures throughout his career, before making a move to LA Galaxy in 2015.
