Ten Games To Keep You Busy This International Break


  • It is the month of March and that means that the international break is back to hamper the rhythm of the club in their domestic campaign. Though it is frustrating for the fans, it is not frustrating for football fans in general as there are a number of high profile games to look forward to in this international break.

    The penultimate game in the first round of the qualifiers for the World Cup 2018 in Russia will see some intense clashes between teams still trying to make it to the top.

    There are also a number of friendlies that are sure to keep you busy.

    For football fans all around, here are 10 games to keep you busy in this international break:

    Cambodia vs India (Friendly) and Myanmar v India:

    Wednesday, 22nd March; Phnom Penh National Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh; KO: 11:30 pm GMT (5:00 pm IST)

    Having failed to qualify for the World Cup, India will only have two games this break and will travel to Cambodia for a friendly. Meanwhile, India will also take on Myanmar in the Asian Cup 2019 qualifier on 28th March 2017.

    Germany vs England (Friendly):

    Wednesday, 22nd March; Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund; KO: 7:45 pm GMT (1:15 am IST on Thursday)

    One of the games of this break will be played in Dortmund between England and Germany, two of the superpowers in European football who face off in a friendly.

    Uruguay vs Brazil (WC Qualifiers; South America):

    Thursday, 23rd March; Estadio Centenario, Montevideo; KO: 11:00 pm GMT (4:30 am IST on Friday)

    A crunch game in the South American qualifiers will see Brazil travel to Paraguay in search of three more points to consolidate their place in the 2018 World Cup.

    Argentine vs Chile (WC Qualifiers; South America):

    In a replay of the Copa America final last year, Argentina will welcome Chile, this time for a WC qualifier, with both teams searching for a victory.

    England vs Lithuania (WC Qualifiers, Europe):

    Top of the table England will take on Lithuania in their only qualifier in this international break at Wembley.

    Russia vs Belgium (Friendly):

    Tuesday, March 28th; Plimpiyskiy Stadion Fisht, Sochi; KO: 5:00 pm GMT (10:30 pm IST)

    With the hosts already qualifying for the competition, they will only participate in friendlies and will take on Belgium in a sizzling tie.

    Netherlands vs Italy (Friendly):

    Tuesday, March 28th; Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam; KO: 7:45 pm GMT (1:15 am IST on Wednesday)

    A tie that has some historical significance, Netherland vs Italy will take place in Amsterdam in the last days of the international break.

    Bolivia vs Argentina (WC Qualifier; South America):

    Argentine have a tough time this break as they play Bolivia in another qualifier just a couple of days after facing Chile at home.

    In another unmissable game, France will welcome Spain to a friendly in their capital with both team’s sure to produce some entertainment.

    After meeting Uruguay away from home, Brazil continue their WC qualifiers welcoming Paraguay to Sao Paulo during this international break.
