11. Owen Hargreaves
The German defensive midfielder is arguably one of the best around when he moved to Manchester United from Bayern Munich for a reported fee of £17 million. Having plagued by injuries during his time at Old Trafford, the midfielder have managed a mere 39 appearances for the Red Devils in his four year stint with Manchester United.
10. Wilfried Zaha
The English winger have failed to impress during his Manchester United spell when he moved to Old Trafford in January 2013 for a £15m. The player has managed only 3 appearances for Manchester United in his time with the Red Devils.
He then moved back to his former club, Crystal Palace after failing to break into first team at Manchester United for a fee of just £3m.
9. Juan Sebastian Veron
Veron has joined Manchester United for a British-record fee of £28.1 million but have failed miserably during his time at Old Trafford. Chelsea have signed the Argentine two years later for £15 million but the Argentine has yet again failed making him one of the worst signings for both the clubs in their histories.
8. Eric Djemba-Djemba
The Cameroon international have moved to Manchester United for a fee of £3.5m from Nantes. He failed to establish himself at Old Trafford as he failed to cope up to the expectations.
He went bankrupt after leaving Old Trafford and left Europe and is currently playing for Indonesian club Persipa Padalarang.
7. Zoran Tosic
Considered as one of the highly talented young wingers, Zoran Tosic was a £9m signing from Partizan Belgrade in January 2009 for Manchester United.
The young Serbian made only five substitute appearances for Manchester Untied before moving to Russian club CSKA Moscow on a permanent deal.
6. Diego Forlan
Rated highly by Sir Alex Ferguson, Diego Forlan has moved from Independiente for £6.9 million in 2002. However, the Uruguayan has failed to find his feet at the club as he managed a mere 10 premier league goals over the two years.
He then moved on to Atletico Madrid where he became one of the most feared strikers in the world as he also won the Golden boot in World Cup 2010.
5. Angel di Maria
It is hard to judge Angel di Maria as one of the worst signings by Manchester United but the Argentine have spent only one season at Old Trafford before moving to PSG due to insecurity he felt in England.
The player have joined Manchester United for a British record fee from Real Madrid under Louis van Gaal but has found it tough under the manager before eventually moving to PSG next summer.
4. Dimitar Berbatov
Berbatov has moved to Manchester United from direct rivals Tottenham for a massive £30.75 million in 2008. The player has spent four years at Old Trafford but despite a few contributions was never consistent.
He managed to score only 56 goals in 149 appearances for Red Devils before leaving to Fulham in the summer of 2012.
3. Radamel Falcao
Despite not being a permanent deal, Manchester United have landed Radamel Falcao on a £6 million loan deal with a option to buy at the end of the loan spell.
The player was paid a massive £250k-per-week wages but has failed miserably as he scored only four goals in his one year spell with the Red Devils. Chelsea have signed the player on loan next year as he failed yet again at Stamford Bridge.

Sir Alex have made the move in order to get the player ahead of real Madrid. The player recently said, ‘I thought Manchester United were joking’ when they paid £7.4m for him, which shows just how bizarre his transfer proved to be.
One of the worst signings, Manchester United have pulled off in the 21st century is the signing of Anderson. The Brazilian was signed for a massive £26m from Porto in 2007.
Anderson was tipped to become the next Scholes but he has did little to prove anything at Old Trafford. He managed 179 appearances for the Red Devils and have struggled for fitness at the club. His contract was recently cancelled as he is now playing in Brazil.
