Manchester United with their recent run of form and injuries are active in the transfer market with manager Louis van Gaal expected to strengthen his squad that is a bit low on options at both ends of the field – forward and defense.
They have been linked several times with Schalke’s Leroy Sane and reports have emerged that Untied has stolen a lead in the race for the Bundesliga star ahead of Barcelona.
Catalan newspaper Sport on Sunday revealed that Manchester United are now rivaled by European giants Real Madrid for the signature of the 20-year old.
The sudden spotlight on Sane is due to the high amount of articles from German newspaper Bild that have linked the Schalke player with a move away from the club but it is understood that United themselves have not made an official statement about the player.
However, The Sport published that Manchester United are now close to contacting the player in order to bring him to England. The move makes a lot of sense for Van Gaal’s men as the pace and trickery of the 20-year old will help the Old Trafford franchise.
However, there is a bit of a controversy over the price tag of the player with Bild earlier publishing that the 20-year old has a 37 million buyout clause. This tag was denied by Shalke immediately and new reports from Sport have put a 15 million tag on the buyout clause.
This transfer does not seem to have too much of truth but the tempting aspect of landing one of Europe’s youngest talent will always give Untied something to think about.
