Till now Arsenal’s season has not been up to their expectations. Currently they are sixth in the EPL table and have earned only 17 of possible 33 points. There are numerous reasons behind this, Arsenal are playing without any world class defensive midfielder the ones which they have are either too old or too immature. Another reason is lack of fire power uyp front, Arsenal’s attack comprises of Danny Welbeck and Oliver Giroud who aren’t deadly enough to go past the defense line of EPL teams and last but not the least the ongoing injury apocalypse which has victimized many of the key players like Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott, Oliver Giroud, Laurent Koscienly and few more.

Let us find out some players which Gunners can seal in January to bring things back on track and make the team little more competitive.

Sami Khedira:

Khedira is one of the unsung heroes of Germany’s World cup triumph. The 27 years old is an aggressive midfielder who comforts himself in central mid and defensive mid position. He is well known for his perfectly timed tackling, interceptions and excellent passing. Sami is in Arsenal’s radar since past two transfer windows and now can be purchased for free as his contract with the Los Blancos is running out and he isn’t willing to sign an extension. He is also targeted by Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea hence it won’t be easy for the gunners to capture Khedira.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar:

Huntelaar’s contract at Schalke is running out this coming summer and according to reports it is believed that Klaas would love to spend the twilight of his career in England. As his contract is exhausting he would be a cheap buy in January for as low as 2-3 million. The 31 year old Dutch front man has had successful seasons in Italy, Spain and Germany and his shooting and finishing is as deadly as ever. He would be a good buy for Arsenal as he will add firepower as well as experience to the squad.

Yohan Cabaye:

The 28 year old French International joined PSG in the winter of 2014 and now he seems to be unsettled due to lack of playing time and is willing to depart as soon as possible. Cabaye has played two and a half seasons in EPL with Newcastle where he was a big hit and was made their captain. He is all round midfield player who plays as a defensive, attacking and a pivot midfielder. His signing will add more stability and dynamism in the Arsenal squad and will be a blessing for players like Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.

Mats Hummels:

Mats Hummels is in the radar of many European giants including Arsenal according to latest reports. The 25 years old German international is one of the best defenders in the world. Hummels textbook ball playing or front foot defender who is a very good tackler and an excellent reader of the game. Hummels will add more maturity in the squad and will be a great partner for his German teammate Per Mertesacker.

Julian Draxler:

The 21 year old German wonder boy is a routine starter for Schalke since 2011 and has become a hot property among European giants like Chelsea, Man united and Arsenal. It is very difficult to categorize Julian on the basis of his playing position as he comforts himself on both the flanks and in number ten role. Most of the Arsenal forwards in the past have transformed form midfielders of winger ro strikers including Thierry Henry, hence we can assume that Draxler might be transformed into a forward as he also possesses good finishing and positioning. This addition will improve Arsenal’s attack and will add more directness in the game.
