Sam Allardyce’s sacking after being exposed through a sting operation has created quite a stir in English football. With the team looking to get back on track after the disastrous showing in this year’s European championship, the incident was the worst that could have happened to them.

As of now, the FA has appointed England under-21 boss Gareth Southgate as the interim manager but with the World Cup 2018 in sight, the FA will be desperate to bring in a quality manager to improve England’s pathetic records in international tournaments. And one potential candidate is Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Wenger, whose current contract at the Emirates expires in 2018, is undoubtedly one of the best managers in the world. Moreover, after serving English football for over 20 years, he is well aware of the players’ ability and will be very suitable to guide them. The French tactician is one of the longest- serving managers in the Premier League and he might look for a new challenge.
