7s, 8s and 9s all around! Chelsea Player Ratings In 3-1 Victory Over Swansea City

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea managed to keep up their lead at the top of the Premier League table this weekend as they put 3 past Paul Clement’s inform Swansea side at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The visitors are fresh from some super performances and made life hard for Chelsea in the first half. Cesc Fabregas opened the scoring for the Blues but Fernando Llorente pulled one back for Swansea just before the break.

Though Swansea came out well in the second half, a silly error from Lukasz Fabianski gave Pedro his 8th goal in level games while Diego Costa popped up with a late goal, sealing all three points for the home side.

Chelsea are now 11 points clear at the top, atleast till the other teams are in action and here are the player ratings for the Blues in this game:

Thibaut Courtois (6):

Had a couple of saves to make which he obliged and was also confident with his handling on a comfortable night for the Belgian.

Cesar Azpilicueta (6):

Solid as usual, Azpilicueta, was decent at the back for Chelsea, pushing the team ahead when needed and defending well when called upon.

David Luiz (5):

An unusually off game for the Brazilian who was troubled by Llorente. He gave away silly fouls and picked up an unnecessary yellow for his troubles on the night.

Gary Cahill (6):

A constant presence at the back for Chelsea, Cahill, never gave the Swansea attackers a chance, putting in a commanding performance for his side.

Victor Moses (6):

Added width in almost every attack and also did well going back in the defensive areas, helping out his center backs time and again.

Cesc Fabregas (9):

The Spaniard replaced Matic in the first team and put in a commendable performance in the midfield for Chelsea. He was at it straight away from kickoff, creating a number of chances throughout the game. He started the move that he scored off to give Chelsea the lead and also picked up an assist for Pedro’s goal on a productive night.

N Golo Kante (5):

Another confident performance from the French star who dominated the midfield on the night and gave Swansea no chance to keep hold of the ball for long periods of time. However, let Llorente free in the box for Swansea’s goal

Marcos Alonso (6):

His usual self on the night on the left flank as he helped his side at both ends of the field to a comfortable victory over Swansea.

Eden Hazard (7):

The Belgian did nothing extraordinary but he managed to pile on the pressure on the visitors on the night, before finally breaking them down.

Pedro (8):

A constant thorn in the Swansea defense, Pedro, was never afraid of taking on his man and came close to scoring a couple of goals on the night. A decent effort got him a goal, thanks to an error from the shot-stopper, that led to a comfortable victory for Chelsea.

Diego Costa (6):

Tried to throw himself about in the final third but hardly helped his side in a creative role, before he popped up to score the 3rd goal of the game to kill Swansea off.

Subs:

Nemanja Matic (5):

Came in to replace Pedro as Conte was eyeing all three points from this game.

Kurt Zouma (5):

Came into the game too late to have any kind of a telling impact.

Willian (6):

Used his pace late in the game to push Swansea back as they managed to keep the visitors away from danger late in the game as well.
