Arsenal have been a rather sedate side in the transfer window, making just one bug signing in the summer transfer window up until the start of this week.

However, they have managed to spend over £50m on Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez to get them to the Emirates and the manager will hope that he can use a squad that is stronger than it was a couple of months ago.

Even with these two signings, Arsenal’s transfer window is far from a success. Arsene Wenger, the manager has looked at a number of different options before settling on the La Liga striker Perez for a move this summer.

The likes of Mauro Icardi, Jamie Vardy, and Riyad Mahrez have all eluded Wenger and one such player who was at the top of the wishlist for the manager but never transpired to move to the Emirates is French international Alexandre Lacazette.

The 25-year old was today called back into the French national squad by Didier Deschamps and has had a decent time with the French side in the new season.

He is one of the most important players for the League 1 outfit who are not ready to let him go this summer. This has seen Lyon reject a £29.3m bid for the striker earlier this summer.

It is now understood that Lacazette is valued at £60m and if any team are ready to meet his valuation, Lyon cannot keep him at the club anymore.

Reports today (via TransferMarketWeb ) suggest that Wenger is plotting to splash the cash before the deadline day next week. But with the way the manager has handled most transfers this season, it is hard to see him spend £60m that too after the signing of Lucas Perez to add to his attack.

The player has also recently spoken about trying to take a step up and move to the Premier League to test himself and if Wenger is still desperate for one of his top transfer targets, he may well be able to get his man if he can splash the cash this summer.

Do you think Wenger can get his hands on Lacazette before the deadline day?
