Italian giants AC Milan are all set to line up a sensational transfer deadline day move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
According to reports in The Metro, the San Siro outfit is planning to put together a £30 million package for the midfielder with the option to buy him if things work out well.
The injury-prone midfielder has been limited to two Premier League appearances off the bench so far this season- totalling 37 minutes- after his pre-season campaign was slowed by a knee injury. He was also left out of the latest England squad with new boss Sam Allardyce citing his lack of regular action and ongoing fitness issues.
The 24-year old is now Arsenal’s sixth choice central midfielder behind the likes of Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Granit Xhaka, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. As a result, the England international wants a move away from the Emirates to revive his career.
Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is a big fan of the midfielder and he believes that Wilshere can play a major role in the heart of midfield.
Meanwhile, Milan’s Serie A rivals Roma and Juventus have also signalled their interest in the midfielder. On the other hand, Crystal Palace also wants the midfielder on loan. Arsenal are not willing to sell Wilshere to any top-four rivals in the Premier League and an opportunity away from England for the midfielder might do the world of good for Wilshere. So one can hope that the Milan deal might materialize.
