Manchester United are interested in signing 22-year old AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to his agent.
The French midfielder will leave the Ligue 1 club unless he is offered a new contract by the club claims his agent Michel Boli.
The defensive midfielder has enjoyed an impressive spell with the Monaco last season which has drawn attention towards the player from a host of clubs across Europe.
The 22-year old was linked with a move to Old Trafford in early July but Jose Mourinho has pushed for other targets as Manchester United have signed both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba to boost their midfield.
“Juventus saw him play three times this summer,” Boli told French outlet sport.fr
“There’s also interest from Manchester United, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City. Tiemoue’s priority is to stay at Monaco.
“Given that Tiemoue wasn’t a starter in the first two matches of pre-season, we wanted to know what the club’s plans for him were.
“(Monaco vice-president Vadim) Vasilyev said he was very happy with him, and that a departure was out of the question. He must come forward with the contract extension which he promised us at the time because we can’t keep waiting.”
Meanwhile, Juventus are also watching the situation around the player closely as reports in Italy suggest that the Italian champions are mulling over a move for the talented young midfielder who possesses lots of potential.
