The Hague, June 18 (IANS) Dutch football club Ajax have announced the signing of Colombian forward Mateo Cassierra from Deportivo Cali FC.

Cassierra, who scored 17 goals in 59 matches for his former club, signed a contract for five years in Amsterdam on Friday, reports Xinhua.

The transfer fee was not made known, but according to Dutch national broadcaster NOS, it is around 5.5 million euros ($ 6.2 million).

Feyenoord also brought in a new striker. The Rotterdam-based giants signed the 25-year-old Danish international Nicolai Jorgensen from FC Kopenhagen for a reported fee of 3.5 million euros.
