Alessandro Del Piero is set to arrive in the capital to take part in the inaugural Indian Super League for the Delhi Dynamos.

The 39-year-old World Cup winner is reported to be land on Thursday afternoon at 2.45 pm by Emirates Airways and will be received by the officials of the Delhi franchisee.

‘Il Fenomeno Vero’ or The Real Phenomenon was signed last month as the Delhi Dynamos’ marquee player and arrives with the rich experience of 19 years with Italian giants Juventus with whom he won eight Serie A titles and a Champions League as well as 91 international caps for the national side. 

He is the 10th highest goalscorer in the Champions League and is famous for scoring the second goal deep into extra time against Germany in the 2006 World Cup semifinal before going on to convert his penalty in Italy‘s shootout win over France.

The two month gala event kicks of on October 12th and Delhi Dynamos play FC Pune City a day later.
