The ALS ICE bucket challenge has gone viral on social networking websites. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The ALS Association have confirmed that the Ice Bucket Challenge donations have reached 22.9 million dollars. The rules are simple, the nominated participant has to pour a bucket of ice water on their head in 24 hours or donate money to the foundation.
