Manchester United latest star signing Angel Di Maria admits he wants to return to Argentina one day.
Di Maria also revealed he had talks with Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Mascherano about returning to his first club Rosario Central, where he started his career. Di Maria made a British record £59.7million move to Old Trafford this summer from Spanish giants Real Madrid. Its highly unlikely that the 26-year-old Argentine international will move back to his home country in the near future.
“When you ask me how I will return to Argentine football, I tell you how I will not go back and then show them a video of Central,” he said. “I always remember Central, will always be present, is the first and then there are all the clubs.
“As for anyone is a dream for me to come to Europe will be a dream to play again in Central. Central will always be first in my head. I’ve talked with Pocho [Ezequiel Lavezzi] and Masche [Javier Mascherano] to return to Central together.”
Di Maria was one of the six big signings made by Manchester United this summer. He has started his career at Old Trafford brilliantly and also scored on his home debut. Di Maria has already scored twice in his three league appearances.
“I have made a great start and I think people are happy with me,” he said. “I hope I can go on to score many more goals so that people remain happy with me.”
