Highly-rated Argentine winger, Angel di Maria is well on his way to Manchester following his decision to join the 20-times League champion Manchester United. In an exclusive interview, Guillem Balague-a Sky Sports correspondent, announced that di Maria has chosen to join Manchester United. According to him, a personal deal has already been agreed and negotiations have proceeded so further that he has been offered the No.7 jersey, previously sported by Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In a rather eventful week, di Maria snubbed contract extension talks with Real Madrid, clearly showing his intentions to leave the club. The Red Devils were in the pole position to sign him up after Paris St Germain pulled off the chase to land him. PSG boss Laurent Blanc admitted that they were in a ‘difficult’ position to sign di Maria due to FFP regulations after the Argentine handed in a transfer request at Real Madrid.

Angel di Maria, a Manchester United fan all along said in an interview dating back to 2009, about his desire to play for the Premier League giant at some point in his career. Albeit being a winger, di Maria had adapted to the central midfield role quite well in the Galacticos jersey last season, even picking up an European record of assists playing in that role. His industrious nature coupled with his world-class dribbling, shooting and passing skills makes him one of the best in his business. Louis van Gaal even mentioned his name while talking about a dearth of classy wingers in his team and a need to bring in world-class players.

Di Maria would blend in well with the current crop of players in Manchester United and might start as a left-sided central midfield player or even as a wing-back, depending on van Gaal’s tactics.
